SERVICES TO YOUTH

The Services to Youth facet of the Farmington Valley (CT) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, is dedicated to equipping Black youth with the tools and support they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. This facet, rooted in the organization's mission, recognizes the unique challenges that young people face today, exacerbated by the confluence of the COVID-19 pandemic and racial unrest. In response to these challenges, the chapter has designed a comprehensive program aimed at addressing the academic, mental health, cultural, and career development needs of the youth it serves.

Youth Empowerment

We assist students in understanding how their racial identity can impact their development. By fostering self-awareness and self-advocacy, the Services to Youth facet empowers young individuals to navigate a world that often presents unique challenges for Black youth.

Personal Branding

Collaboration with a local high school in the form of workshop presentations on college application essay writing, interview skills, and career exploration demonstrates the chapter's hands-on approach to ensuring the success of the youth it serves. These workshops equip young individuals with essential life skills and knowledge that can be transformative in their pursuit of higher education and career goals.
